have an online friend who lives in Tennessee and has a motorcycle touring business. We talk every few years. Each time we talk about the different areas and different activities. I always bring up sleeping out in the Smokeys. Each time I bring it up he side steps and won't tell me about any possible camping trips. It makes me feel as if he is hiding something or doesn't like sleeping out under the stars for some reason.

I guess your friend finds the subject of sleeping out in the Smokeys a subject that must be kept off the record.

You talk only every few years? Can't be much of a friend, then. He'd be an acquaintance.

No, we have gone past the mere acquaintance standing. We just don't catch up to one another more than that.
