About 15 days ago a pair of goslings fell into a storm drain near a Chili's restaurant in Columbus Indiana. Thanks to the efforts of the Columbus Animal Care Services who at first made the attempt to rescue two goslings who fell into a storm drain but not were not successful in executing the rescue were able to contact the authorities to contact the Columbus Fire Department who used their skills to remove the storm drain cover and get the baby goslings out of the drain. The two goslings were reunited with their mom and three siblings as they left the area to go on their merry way grateful for the assistance of the firefighters and the animal control officers. I am just wondering how the did the goslings leave their group and enter into a storm drain is something I will never know since goslings cannot speak to humans.

I wonder about that too. They usually stay very close to the mother.

I know what you mean since goslings believe in the saying "We are family."

What is it with all our feathered friends getting caught in strange places? I remember the ducklings that mom almost lost, Glad these were reduced but I say bird moms better work on watching their kids better

That is a good question on why goslings get lost into storm drains myself.

I'm so glad that the fire department takes the time to rescue animals. I'm so glad they found the mother too.
