John Treman, had been having a series of dreams, where his dead Uncle would appear to him, and talk to him, about his life, and point out some ideas for him, that he might use in his life.
Uncle Albin, told John, that it was easier for dead people to connect to ones that they previously knew, through their dreams like this, than within their real awaken life.
When a passed over person thinks of you, they immediately connect to you, but when you are awake, you are less likely to notice this connection, but in a dream, you will invariably do so. You are more open to receive, and to believe contact like this, within a dream.
Uncle Albin would always appear in one of John's dreams, wearing a hat on his head, and holding a cane, or walking stick, but funnily enough, he would never have any shoes on his feet.
Uncle Albin had been a single man in life, and fairly well off, so this not wearing shoes now, in John's dreams, was definitely out of character for him.
John thought that it simply meant that Uncle Albin's journey here on Earth had finished, and now he was humbly indicating how death better grounds you, after your life has ended here on the Earth. And John was right in his thinking here.
Now, if it was John himself that was dreaming of himself being barefooted in his dream, the meaning would be completely different here.
It would more indicate that John was looking for change in his life, or for new ground, to ground his life better on, than the ground on which he is living his life right now on.
He needs to change the way that he walks, and get closer to his real journey, not cover it over with fancy shoes, and see more in the value of the shoes, than the real value in his actual journey.
Uncle Albin appeared to John in his dreams, about once a month, over a period of several years. His message was always invariably the same message to John.
"Wake up John to seeing that there is more to see in life, than what you currently see, and more to see in death too, that I am proving to you right now."
"Life goes on after death, and I am here to remind you of this."
John never did wake up though. He saw life as life, and that dreams were merely dreams, and meaningless otherwise to him.
And so, he missed an opportunity to learn more from his Uncle, because he never got to accepting the very first message, which had to be repeated, over and over again, but even so, was never accepted by John.
We cannot learn more, nor be given more, until we accept that first lesson, and build on from that first step, stepping up from there then, into greater knowledge, wisdom, and truth.

We come into the world barefooted, and this means/indicates to us, that we should remain open to ourselves, not cover ourselves over with life, too much.

Thanks. I think that we can get much truth from our dreams, if we value them more.

@innertalks So do I. I had an eye opening dream last night! Not sure exactly what it means but it was a break through of sorts.

@RubyHawk Yes, we generally have such a feeling when we have an important dream for ourselves. The meaning might become clear later.

I like the message of accepting changes in life in learning new lessons so we can grow.

Thanks. We cannot learn from things if we do not accept the change/changes that they bring to us first.

Yes, thanks, nicely put.
We should accept things as they come to us in life, and then we should not ignore them, but accept and learn from them.
This also means that we shouldn't try to force things to come to us, before their time, or before we are ready to accept them either.
