do you like your president?

We're going to have a new president by next month and I'm not very hopeful he will be a good one. I've looked at his credentials and didn't really find it impressive, he also avoided debates which was disappointing, although I did watch some of his live interviews and his answers were not very good. I know some Filipinos will disagree, but I hope he will prove us wrong when he becomes president.

I totally agree with you but he won so let's give him a chance to prove we're wrong about it. But if things happen like we suspect it to be then it is not our fault since we both did not vote for him. But if we're wrong about it then good for our country.

yeah, I do accept it, although it was far from a clean election. Looking at his appointed people though, i'm even more hesitant to hope for something good.

@lady1993 I guess it was clean enough that they were able to hide any possible defect in the way the counting was done. They have cleaned the process to make it look like there was no cheating that happened around. Plus, even before the election started, they started replacing the highest position in the Comelec like the Chairman was formerly the attorney of the Marcoses so it's pretty obvious that it would be biased already for them. All was covered at every angle of this election to make sure there sure a victory without questions. You can sense that even the way the two winning candidates were not keen on joining any debates anymore because they are assured of winning already.

@rsa101 I still had a bit of hope even after seeing all those new people in the comelec actually. I was really disappointed that they did not even bother with the debates and people still worshipped them.

I think most people, when they enter the "palace", become worse. I'm usually not thrilled by any president. Also, they take a lot of responsibility but there are tons of people behind the scenes suggesting and perhaps threatening the president.

Yeah, we never really know what goes on behind the scenes. I rarely respect any politician, since power corrupts many.

@lady1993 we all have the same hope. No one wants to see a government fail because it adversely impacts all of us. That is why we vote for the people who we think is the best for the country.

I cannot say that I particularly like our actual President, but it changes every year here in Switzerland. This is the first one that I do not like a lot.

@lady1993 - Our Government is a total of 7 members and each of them is President for one year. The decisions must always be discussed among the 7, never one person only can take important decisions. This is the best.

I try to avoid discussions about politics however whether you dislike him or not, voted for him or not the bottom line is the majority speaks, and as fellow citizens, we have to respect that and just wish him good luck in leading our country and of course to prove us wrong. Mabuhay Pilipinas!

That's true. Definitely won't be doing anything to destabilize the government or whatever, I have enough problems. Looking forward to how he runs the country though, hopefully he won't just be focused on cleaning their name.

She lost because her marketing sucks. They screwed her campaign. Then the strategy back fires and insults the undecided or the other side. It's like that when ERAP won the Presidency. It's not the same campaign strategy compare back in 2016. Shame, were having him as the President. I think still lack voting education or the liberal party just screws up.

That's the new script I guess, but there really was a lot of factors. The years of disinformation and smear campaigns even before she ran as Pres. There were really a lot of people who only think of her as someone who keeps on criticizing the Du30 and did nothing during her term when she actually helped many, even before being a politician. And now plunderers and convicts are holding high positions in the government, it's such a joke.

I am not contradicting your belief. To tell you honestly, I think, he will be a good president that's why I've voted for him.
