Shopping day in town.

I went shopping in town again today. I asked my Mum to change a £20 note for a £10 and two £5s. When my Mum asked me why I wanted £5s specifically I said, well if I go into a charity shop to get a blouse, I don't want to give them a £20 note if It comes to less than £5 or less than £10. It was very cloudy when I set out and it was trying to spot with rain. I wore my big coat. I walked on the top path round Stowe Pool again. Where the benches had gone from round Stowe Pool they'd put replacement concrete ready I presume to replace the benches. Before I did anything I went straight to the toilet by the Cathedral. I go into the disabled toilet because there's more room in there for me and the trolley. Then I went to Holland and Barrett for some Kambucha. They said I had a voucher to spend so I got £1 off! Then I sat on a bench to eat my lunch. I sat by the shop that used to be the old Marks and Spencer, but now they're going to open a new Tesco Express like the little Tesco down by us. I ate my sandwich, but when I came to drink some of the Kambucha I couldn't get the top off! Then I had a brilliant idea - I went back to Holland and Barrett and asked the cashier if she could possibly open it for me! She said loads of people ask her to do that! Then I went back to the bench to drink some of it! Then I went to Rileys for some fruit and veg. I got some strawberries, 2 golden delicious apples, half a cucumber, some cherry tomatoes and 4 carrot cup cakes. Mum had asked for Muffins but there were no muffins left so I took the carrot cup cakes instead hoping they would be acceptable. Then I went for a bit of a detour! Because I only usually go up half of Market Street I don't know what's up the other end, or what's round the corner, so I decided to go for a little walk round and find out! So I did. I saw a jewellers shop I didn't know was there, a financial advisers, several pampering shops and a few cafes I didn't know where there. Then I went round the corner where the George Hotel is. I knew the George Hotel was there but I don't go down that road as a rule so I didn't know what else was there. There was an oriental shop to the left but I think it was shut, I mean permanently. There didn't seem to be anything in it. Then to the right was a Chinese or Japanese restaurant which wasn't open. I went right where most things where. There was a cafe as part of the George Hotel and people were sitting on tables outside. I made my way to where another turning turned left and I went that way wondering if I was going to get myself lost. If I get lost, I thought, all I have to do is turn around and retrace my steps. But then to my surprise I found myself in the car park behind B&M! So I just went through the walk way past Iceland and back to Market Street. So then I went into the Heart Foundation charity shop to look for a blouse. I managed to get 2 and then I saw a Meerkat statuette and I thought I'd get it for my Mum's birthday because she likes Meerkats so I got that too. Then I went into Iceland to look for something for tonight's dinner, but I couldn't find anything suitable, so I went off to the big Tesco to get something. I got a mushroom and pasta thing from the vegan isle. When I got to the queue the lady infront of me let me go infront of her because I only had the one item. So when I'd paid I went to look at the books on the book swap. I saw two I liked and because I hadn't got a book with me to swap I put some coins in the charity tin instead and took those. When I was walking back the way I came I gave £1 each to two homeless people. I went back to the toilet by the Cathedral. Whilst there I tried on my blouses. Then I set off to go home. The sun was actually coming out by this time. I arrived home and told my Mum all about my day.

Good morning and thank you very much. Yes, it was a very successful shopping trip. I had a great day. My toes were a bit sore for a while afterwards though! I'm glad you managed to do your things. It's nice and sunny here today seeing as I'm not going out!

@sharonelton I got to be home today & tomorrow, ups deliver, probably tomorrow, too... very sunny. Got potting soil, from Walmart rollback. Planted 2 plants today. Luckily, Target sent me an alert letting me know shipment coming early, probably tomorrow. I signed up for ups alerts, but got none.... very disconcerting!

@oahuwriter Oh, dear. Well I hope it comes and you're in when it comes. I bet your plants are nice. What kind are they? It's very sunny here today. It's shining on my tablet so I can't see what I'm doing!

It's nice to explore new areas sometimes. You know a bit more about your town now.

Good morning and thank you very much. Yes, I did do some discovering. Mum's going to love that Meerkat! It's my pleasure, I hope you enjoyed coming shopping with me. I did have a lovely day, thank you very much, and a marvellous weekend. We had a baptismal service on Sunday which I've talked about in another post if you want to go and look at that.
