Garden Salad For Dinner & Peaches

Enjoyed a nice salad for dinner. Lettuce, tomatoes, sunflower seeds, olives and artichokes. Had Italian dressing and croutons as well. I am thinking of having dessert. A few fresh peaches are on the counter that seem to be calling my name. I love all kinds of fresh fruit. A peach will be dessert. Have made three trips to fill up the bird bath today. We got up to 92 degrees. Yikes, that is summer time weather in May. Hoping for rain later today or tomorrow. Photo is mine.

Sounds wonderful. Marie is blessed with a son who is a wonderful chef. Always good food at her house it seems. The peach was perfect.

@CarolDM That’s a good idea. It’s hard for me to chew that much lettuce with my denture issues.

@CarolDM - Artichokes are not in season right now. I buy them fresh at the market and I cook in olive oil with garlic and parsley.

The ones in oil are really tasty. I tried some in water yesterday, then added olive oil. Very good.

We hit 92 as well. Not a fan at all. I made some clam chowder and we had a piece of baked fish. It was light and hit the spot. Enjoy your peach for dessert.

I looked for good ripe peaches but didn’t find them. I found strawberries and grapes.

We had heavy rain and some thunder; and now the temps are back into the 70s. No more 90s for a while. Your salad sounds yummy.

Your salad for dinner seems really nice and a yummy peach for dessert is even better. That is nice of you to fill up the bird bath for birds.

Yes it was just perfect. Light and filling at the same time. I make at least three trips this time of year.

Your salad looks and sound delicious, I love fresh peaches but usually can only get canned but I have tried the Dole ones in jars and they are better.

We were into the nineties Thurs and Fri- a few days ago. Now we're back into the sixties again with cooler nights. It's warm at night but to cold to open the windows. Your meal and the peaches sounds good. I like fresh fruit too and almost bought some peaches or plums the other day when I was picking up a few things.

@CarolDM I'm sure the peaches were tastier than the one I'll be having purchased from my store. But that will be better than canned or frozen and I'll enjoy mine too.

I bought some peaches the other day at the supermarket because they were reduced. But of course the peaches we get here, especially when it isn't even summer, are not lovely ripe ones but rather hard and they rarely actually ripen, they just go straight from hard to mouldy. So I hakved these, replaced each stone with a ball of marzipan, and baked them. Then ate them warm with a dollop of ice-cream. They were delicious!

Sounds good! I don't know yet about dinner, this evening. Yesterday, went to Ala Moana center, Briggs. Got their sausage wrap and custard cream pan, for breakfast this morning...was good!
