Today is the 47th wedding anniversary of my parents. Every year, we're celebrating this (23rd of May) even if my father already passed away last February 26, 1999. My mother is still alive today and celebrated her 70th birthday last 6th of May. My wife cooked "pancit" noodles with some vegetables and chicken liver and carrots for a simple celebration. It's 6:47pm already here and in a matter of minutes, I'll open the company's computer for my work at home as a customer service representative in an online shopping for fashion dress and shoes.

Yes. That's part of our culture even if he's not with us anymore physically, we're still celebrating this.

@luisga814 That's really nice that you honor him still. No one wants to be forgotten, the fact that you cherish his memory is so nice.

@MarieCoyle Yes. It's a practice in our family to still honor even if it's already passed away.

Wow! I hope my wife (whom I haven't met yet ... or have I? ) follow the shining example of your mother (probably the same example my sister follows for my late brother-in-law) and celebrates their eternal union's anniversary even though they're currently in the longest-distance 'long-distance relationship' anyone will ever be in.

Wife, who haven't met yet? Still single, I presume.

@luisga814 Yes; and my parents divorced when I was about 20. And my Traumatic Brain-Injury has made me kind of an 'untouchable' (I'm OK to have fun-with, but 'getting serious with me' comes with a whole lot of hidden responsibilities people don't want ... oh, I'm mostly normal; but there's no guarantee I won't go 'cuckoo-banannas' and make a big shameful mess my wife'll have to clean-up and/or pay-for; (First-of-all: there's no conceivable way I'll ever be 'an independent citizen' (except on my voter-ID, as a voter "Independent" of party); so the government-records would probably have her as my "Guardian." We might not even be "Husband and Wife" in the government's eyes, but "Guardian and Dependent" (Oh, we'd be 'husband & wife' in our life together and in every other possible way; but "history" (as recorded by the government) would remember us as something more like "Patient & Home-Nurse.")

Happy anniversary even if one is already in heaven or the great beyond. The "bihon" rice noodles is simple but very delicious.

That's lovely. I'm glad you still celebrate it. My Mum is in her 70's too. She was born in 1945. The noodles look very nice. Enjoy the celebrations.

Oh! Good thing, I love those people who reach on the 70's. My mother was born in 1952. My father was born in 1947.
