The Sufi Shiek, Wolesk Verborski, was talking to his students about how most people can become enslaved to something, or another, in their lives. "Even being enslaved to nothing, is being enslaved to something," he said. "We should freely live our lives for God, and not be enslaved to anything under God." "If our mind is enslaved to anything, our body will be too. Our body follows our mind, but if our mind is following our body's enslavements, we are doubly enslaved then." "Some of us think we are free, but in reality, we are not." "Only love frees you." "All else is enslaving you to it. When you love fully, you are free of all entrapments." "When you do not love, you are living entrapped from these lesser things, as entrapments lead you away from full loving." "I have one more final point to make now, in two brief sentences." he said. "Never be a slave to anything. Never cage your love." Photo Credit: The photo used in this article was sourced from the free media site, pixabay.com A Sufi mystic talks clearly. I know love conquers all. We would be free from the bondage of sin because of the unfeigned love of our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.

Yes, I agree, love conquers all. Love is the answer to every question, and every problem can be solved with enough love.

One can be a slave to love too. What do you think?

If it is real love, the same love as which God loves from, that type of love would always be empowering for us, not enslaving of us. If it is a lesser love, like love of sport, ego love, mind infatuation, human love, etc. yes, I would say that type of love could enslave us at times too.

The material world can be a charmer but can lead us astray if we are feeble-minded. I have seen some going hammer and tong after all that glitter and then unable to retrace their steps. They become wedded to their single-minded pursuit - wealth for its own sake and as a badge of honor! Then everything else is secondary - family, society, etc. We should swim in different waters to enjoy life in totality as otherwise, all our toils end in vain to leave empty-handed. Love is all-embracing and we cannot go wrong with that - we will then feel the bearhug with our creator!

Nicely put, siva. Yes, it happens in all fields. Even in religion, you have some over-zealous fanatics chasing other things other than love. We have a Priest in our church, who seems to be chasing becoming the Pope, one day. Even that ambition should not move one aside from love, and our relationship with our creator. Even with the creator's bearhug, we can feel the squeeze sometimes, but it is all worth it in the end, and we shouldn't withdraw from him for that reason.

@Shiva49 Yes, they close their ears, eyes, and minds to all else, except for what is controlling them in their own heads.

@innertalks Thanks Steve, fanatics are always a putoff and live in their own cloistered world of self-deception. They have an "off with their heads" attitude if a different view is proffered.
