As a child, I don't know how old, my wife got a painting of Pinkie. Most people display it along with Blue Boy, but it is slightly less well known.
When she moved in, she hadn't had it up where she had been living for the previous 6 years. It took a while, but when she found it, the frame of her print was messed up and the print was extremely damaged.
Knowing how fond she was of the picture, I got onto Ebay and started looking for a good copy.
And I found it. Not just a really excellent copy, but in a very nice frame, and under glass - which her childhood copy hadn't had and why it had gotten so damaged. And it was larger than her previous picture.
I hadn't told her that I was getting it for her, I wanted to surprise her.
I did.
Now, part of the reason for the surprise was that I don't care for the picture. I can't say I like Blue Boy either, it is just a matter of taste.
So, in 2019, when the roommate's room got redesigned she wanted the picture in a certain place. Not only was it some place where she could see it, but because of her achromatopsia, it also blocked some of the light coming in her room.
So, in March I moved into her room and I'm trying to make it more my room.
Needless to say, taking down Pinkie was one of those things that needed to be done. I tried it once and discovered it was stuck to the window. I wrote the friend who did the room and asked how she got it stuck to the window. Turned out she used double-sided tape.
Last week, I finally got the energy and grabbed the bottom of the picture and pulled. The bottom wasn't stuck because the picture was also leaning on the window. I got it off. Then I went into the front room, where most of the art is either original art or signed and numbered prints. Now I have one of my pictures over the desk where Pinkie used to be.
I'm not throwing the picture away, but what I'm going to do with it remains to be seen.
Here is some information about Pinkie:

Do you like it? Do you have a print of it? Have you ever heard of it before this?

I know there was a time when people would hang Pinkie and Blue Boy prints in their living rooms. I went to an estate sale that the living room was very 1950s, and since we are sort of 1950s ourselves, I guess it isn't a great surprise. It just doesn't do anything for me. I mean, it is pretty, but... really not my style. I get that my style might not be other people's, but there we are.

I have not heard of it. I find her pretty. It was so thoughtful of you to gift your wife this one from ebay. It did have so much sentiment values to her

She is pretty. Viv was thrilled when I had her open it up. Mind you, this was at least 10 years before we got married, we were just roommates back then. Roommates with a shared love of Doctor Who and The Tomorrow People. And other science fiction stuff.

@arunima25 we did have a lot in common. I met her when she called into a Doctor Who "beg-a-thon" run by the local PBS station.
