COVID quarantine day 4

Wow! How is everyone doing? I finally got COVID, first time since the pandemic began. I have been traveling, and I do not wear a mask at work (but I generally stay in my cubicle) but outside of that I am always wearing a mask - keeping the distance - using the hand sanitizer...I am surprised I got it. It has been just like a bad head cold for me - I spent most of the last 3 full days sleeping and I am STILL tired! I have been given clearance to go back to work on Friday if my symptoms are minimal, which means only 2 more housebound days after today. Will just need to wear a mask at work and keep distance, which is fine. I am lucky nothing drastic has happened (knock on wood)-I know a handful of people who have wound up on ventilators and in hospitals on oxygen. I am lucky! And I am grateful to my body. Sometimes I feel like it's not the most efficient body out there, but it's kickin' COVIDs butt (proud body moment!) My symptoms have been: extreme headache for the first 3 days, runny/congested nose, sore throat and dry, painful cough (these have gone away), fatigue, body/muscle ache, and intermittent loss of smell (i believe related to the sinus junk - right now I cannot smell a thing). The worst symptoms for me were the cough/sore throat, head ache, and fatigue. Eveyrthing has disappated now on day 4 except the loss of smell, sinus problems, head ache and fatigue. My life is usually "go, go, go" so now having to quarantine even just for the total of 5 days - has felt extremely weird. I can't imagine back in those days when everyone had to quarnatine 14 days - I would have lost my mind. I've already had to miss 4 days of work, reschedule work at the fire department, reschedule doctor's appointments, visits to friends, errands... It's crazy how difficult it can feel to put your life on hold for 6 days only and what a disruption it can cause. I already finished 1 1/2 books (Verity by Colleen Hoover & Buried Prey by John Sandford), finished a Netflix series I was watching (In the Dark), andam about to tackle some cleaning - since I feel up to taking on some kind of project here. Hoping my recovery stays on track for me to be well by Friday. Hope all is well with others here!

Just getting over it, may not be the end of it, it isn't for everybody, but lets hope once you are over it, you are truly over it!

I had Covid in February. Mild, no lingering symptoms. My husband brought it home to me (he had it first). He still has lingering fatigue.

Our friend had similar symptoms to you and ended up in hospital though not on a ventilator. She also lost her taste but eventually that returned. I hope you recover fully.

I got Covid last April and had only severe headache and bodyache as symptoms. I got no fever. But yes, the weakness stayed for months. And even after a year, I feel that I am not back to my actual energy level. I get tired easily and also some days are bad with headache. Just take good care despite mild symptoms. Take enough rest and a good diet.

Get well soon. Sometimes getting sick is our body's way of telling us to slow down a bit.

I’m so thankful you’re better! I never had any of the respiratory issues. The only “common” symptom I had was lost of taste and smell, which I attributed to using a steroid nasal spray. My symptoms were entirely gastric. (When my stomach started hurting again I used one of my covid tests, which thankfully was negative.) It’s a weird virus. Anyway, thank God your body is kicking it! Kick it to the curb!

The virus is airborne, so it is best to wear a mask at all times at the workplace. Happy that you are on the road to recovery.

I think in terms of Covid I am over it now and won’t tolerate restrictions based on it. If that means not going on foreign holidays then so be it
