Does your biggest phobia match the state you live in? Mine does. I know this because I looked at the map in this article: The Most Common Phobias In The United States, Mapped. It's linked below, just in case you want to do all the reading but the clickable link at the bottom will show you the map in case you only wish to see what the biggest fear is in your state. In Iowa, it's needles---Which is a very logical and quite sensible thing to be afraid of. The other states I have lived in aren't quite as logical and sensible. Massachusetts is most afraid of sounds---Yeah, I don't get it, either. For Pennslyvania and Illinois, it's being stared at, which makes a little more sense than sounds. But not much. Maybe a bit more than the fear of large objects (California and New York). And much more than the fear of holes, which is the biggest in 13 states and I don't understand that one at all because I'm a Gynecologist and I'm a metal dectorist. Holes are nothing to be afraid of. What's the biggest fear in your state? ************** EEK! The biggest fear in Iowa is needles because of all of the haystacks there. (Yeah, I know, meeting, meeting, meeting.) It’s funny that acrophobia (which I have) is the #1 fear in Kentucky. With all the moonshine around here why would anyone be afraid of being high??????? And I just have to LOL at the South Carolina fear of holes. Ha, with all the golf courses in that state, someone’s afraid of holes? (Or maybe that’s why they’re afraid of holes!)

Meetings are wonderful things. And I bet you're right. There are a lot of haystacks here. When you put it like that, it is very strange. I bet you're right about SC, too.

What large objects, the things people in my home state don’t like being stared at for?

That's a fear that makes sense.
