Russian Offensive Picking up in Ukraine.

When the Russians launched their limited military offensive against Ukraine it was expected that it would be all over in three weeks. This did not happen and the Russians failed to capture Kyiv and Kharkiv. The Russians re-planned their offensive and withdrew from North Ukraine. They now launched ian offensive in eastern Ukraine in the Donbas region and here they have met with success. The City of Mariapul is captured and 2300+ Ukrainian solicitors are taken as POWs. The Russian army is now in a relentless drive and is moving towards Odesa. The Americans are supporting with weapons worth billions of dollars but this has not halted the offensive, on the contrary, it has brought the world closer to World War III. The sad part is that all this could've been avoided in case Zelensky and Biden had decided to accept the contention not to expand NATO eastwards. They failed to do this and the result? Russia has invaded Ukraine and despite all American sanctions, the Rouble remains strong and the Russian economy is surviving. America has not committed ground troops and that is a fatal blow in NATO thinking. The net result is the Russians are winning and their offensive is moving forward. In case the West ups the ante, there is every chance of World War III and that will lead to the destruction of western civilization. I wonder if Biden and Zelensky had calculated this aspect. There are now over 6 million refugees and Ukraine is destroyed. The Ukrainians will have to thank Zelenskyy for it.

Germany confirmed they are NOT sending heavy equipment. The EU countries did not take decision about banning Russian gasoline, because they need it. I would say that Europe is taking distance from Biden right now.

@madan02 Zelenskyy is not a politician, he is not a military, he is nothing at all, he is an actor and he was the perfect puppet to be placed there to do what others wanted he to do. Now those "others" are stepping back.

Anna, thanks for commenting, I agree that Russia is moving ahead but all this is futile and I wonder what Zelenskyy gained.
