Need new AC adapter

My AC adapter from my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop hasn’t been working properly. For a while, there have been connection issues and it wouldn’t work. I had to move it around this way and that until the connection worked and the laptop was charging. Recently, I would hear a spark sound when moving the AC adapter around to try to get a connection but today I also saw a spark. That’s when I noticed that the wire that goes into the AC adapter is ripped. I quickly unplugged it from the wall and turned the laptop off as it was low on battery. I need to buy a new one but have no idea where to look.

Try Best Buy. They deliver in one day here. Or call Lenovo.

This was going to be my suggestion. The store here always keeps a couple of the Insignia universal laptop chargers in stock; they come with several different connectors so you can select the one that fits your laptop, and in my experience they're usually a bit less than the manufacturer might charge for a replacement.

Best Buy online doesn't seem to have what I need.

I hope it works fine? Did you get a new one yet?

The power cord is ripped so cannot use it. I don't want to attempt using it. Don't want to see any sparks or deal with possible bigger issues from the sparks. I've been searching online and either find something that isn't compatible or is on ebay and used. I don't want a used ac adapter. Don't even know if it comes with a power cord..

@RebeccasFarm I've not come across any. I am on Lenovo website chatting to a sales rep. Maybe he can help.

Adapters can be bought everywhere since everyone uses laptops. Walmart also sells them.

But it has to fit my laptop specifically. Can't just buy any adapter..

You have to check the specifications of your laptop charger and buy the right one.

Yeah. I've been searching for the model # that is on my ac adapter. What I seem to find either is used selling on ebay or something not compatible with my laptop.

@lovebuglena Don't buy which is not compatible for your laptop charger. It will do more harm than good.

@lovebuglena It will if the voltage or current input is not tolerated by your laptop.

I don't know any stores like that around here. There is a store that sells laptops. I can go there and maybe see if someone can help me.
