Rapidity of change

Twelve years ago today, June 2 - FB has reminded of one of the memories I shared on my wall. Here it is: "Life is measured by the rapidity of change, the succession of influences that modify the being." - George Eliot (1819-1880) George Eliot is right. Do you have any insight about his quote?

The only thing constant about life is change. But for sure life has changed rapidly in the last two decades with the rapid developments in technology. And we can not deny that the recent pandemic has changed it a lot...in both good and bad ways.

@Nakitakona You are right. It's been a mental and emotional turmoil for everyone in some way

I do agree with. When regards to pandemic, it does more emotional, mental injury than healing.

I agree. Life is all about changes. When nothing happens, time seems to stop. Adulthood seems to run fast because fewer events happen, days tend to look all the same.

I tend to agree with the sentiment of his quote. Nothing stays the same, but it is up to you to be changed, and to grow past a change, instead of becoming stuck in it, and stuck in your ways too. We do need to allow change to modify our being for the better, as he says there.

@Nakitakona Yes, I agree. We do not want to stagnate, and so it is a good idea to keep ourselves alive to the changes all around us, by listening to broadcasts from television, or radio, or just reading too, as you said there.

Yes, we should adapt to such changes to better ourselves so that we could progress along that changes.

@innertalks Thus, we keep on reading or else we eventually stop from increasing our knowledge around us.

Facebook shows me memories, too. Most recently from June 18, 2020. That was my Mom's last birthday with us. She would have been 78. Amazing the changes since she's been gone. The house I lived in with her looks totally different, now, and I haven't lived in the house for over a year.
