Update on the trolley situation.

We have our new trolley. It came at about half past nine this morning just as I was coming into the living room from my bedroom.
The delivery man actually gave us two! He gave Mum one of them and then he said, I've got another one here! Mum said, we only want one, and the delivery driver said, there was 2 on the order. If you want to send one back you'll have to contact customer services.
So now we've got two trolleys instead of one! Mum is going to have to tell my step-dad that he put 2 on the order instead of just 1 and he's spent £90 instead of £45. Mum's thinking of keeping the second trolley but if my step-dad wants a refund for the one she'll be lucky!
Mum thinks it's hilarious! I wonder what my step-dad is going to think?
I still don't know when I'm going shopping because we've still got to put one of the trolleys together.

It’s 5:00 am EST, and my yet uncaffeinated American mind was just in a bit of a pickle trying to figure out why you were personally delivered two trollies. Then, an imaginary one of our own slammed head-first right into me, and I remembered you were talking about a cart.

Yes, sometimes when we have different words for things it can be very confusing. So you would call a four wheeled shopping trolley a cart?1 person likes this

@sharonelton Yes And, that even depends on the type of cart and where and what it is used for. What you described would be a cart. But a shopping cart that stays at a grocery store is called a buggy in some parts of the USA and a cart in others.

@Chellezhere I see. Thing is we call trolleys that stay in the supermarket trolleys too so It can get really confusing! The kind of trolley with a frame, four wheels and a canvas bag is the one we take with us to do our shopping with and we'd call that a shopping trolley. A trolley that stays in a supermarket that's a lot bigger and is made up of wire we would call a supermarket trolley. It can be a bit confusing for us never mind for Americans who call them something different altogether!

So far so good. Roomie uses something like to roll groceries in his room or to roll laundry out to the washer.

They would allow us to send the one back, but Mum has been umming and aaring about wether or not to keep it or sell it to someone or even give it away so we'll just have to see!

I think that's up to my step-dad. He's taken the serial number or something off the second trolley so I think he's planning to send it back.
