Yes, I finally decided my book is finished after messaging an author who told me that my word count was enough. I was trying to shoot for 70,000 words which is the average for this type of book, and a debut novel. I've gotten it to 68.6k. Close enough, she said.
I have already begun submitting queries to agents. There are a limited number of agents in Canada, and some say on their website that they are not accepting submissions at this time. Once I get through the Canadians I think will suit me, I will move to American agents.
I am really nervous about this so ask that you send positive vibes my way.
And now, I begin the next book. I'm really excited about it too.

Congratulations. Actually, I want to be a novel author also however, I don't know who will be my publisher? I am from the Philippines.

@patgalca Just for curiosity, are those Canadian literary agents accepting book manuscripts from outside Canada (from the Philippines to be exact). We do have publishers for novels also here. However, it's only for native language only.

@luisga814 I commented on your post. The author and agents can be anywhere in the world. They don't have to be near each other.

That's awesome! Being able to complete writing a book. I do hope you would be able to publish your book.
How I wish I could do so too. I/m still completing it and it's been 10 years. I wish I would be able to complete it in this lifetime.
