Yah. You know that name, right? I am watching her Netflix documentary, seeing her rise from the itty bitty girl who sang on the front porch of her Smoky Mountain home. Such a dear, extraordinary person. She is 76 and still very popular. I remember her show on tv and there was a made for tv movie too that was about her life. Remember the movies "9 To 5" and "Steel Magnolias"? She is still going strong. I'd love to see Dollywood someday but I doubt that I will make it down there. Thinking of all her songs(and there are thousands) I have a few favorites like Jolene, Grass is Blue, Me And Little Andy, A Coat of Many Colors, Islands in the Stream, and I Will Always Love You. I'm sure you have your favorites too. Her songs are timeless and really touching. The one that makes me tear up the most and that I simply love is I Will Always Love You. Not the rendition that was done by Whitney Houston but the one Dolly does herself. The intro tells of how and why the song originated. I am sharing it with you below. Image courtesy of Google

Dolly Parton is one of the musicians as well as human beings in our world today who never forgot her roots.

I haven't been to the "Dollywood" side of Dollywood, but I have been to the water park side (they're two different parks). She's a real treasure. One of my favorite songs of hers is "My Blue Tears."

@celticeagle she covers quite a range considering most people think of her as a country singer

Cool, thank you, not many do any about her, a few here and there but figure she would be much bigger and I always liked her in new modern world because she said, If I started now I do not know if I would be as famous. The world no joke and been frustrating for me watching all these cool bands die because would rather hear lame music that does not say a damn thing and sometimes that is cool, but not everywhere. Means we have a dumb society and our music more or less wasted our time and made us stupid. My music educated me is what I like to think. Dolly definitely no idiot.

Yeah, it is amazing to see the new wave of music coming along now. I am so glad I grew up when I did. When the rock n' roll, and country, were at it's best. Glad we have technology that gives us the opportunity to enjoy the originals. I often wonder what those from other worlds would think of Earth with this new idiotic music and politics as it is today.
