In West Bengal between carrot farms and rice fields there are green demarcations.

In West Bengal in the farms lands in Malda, Birbhum, in between carrot farms and rice fields there are green demarcations. That means those plants are plants which turn into bushes. During rains and at other seasons there is no scope of weathering of the soil. Both the crops grow well.

Farmers here sometimes grow windbreaks of trees to try to stop erosion.

I think the in between land can support bushes, trees etc. It can help hold the top soil during the rains and help soil fertility as well. So it could be due to a sound logic being followed? Or something else?
