The role of our heart in our life, is not unlike how a house becomes a home

A house becomes a home when it is lived in

The real work is in the Heart: Wake up your Heart! Because when the heart is completely awake, then, it needs no Friend. Rabia Basri, ( 718 to 801 AD) a great Sufi mystic, said this. Now, I would more say that our heart is always already awake, but we, in our mind, are asleep to it, but she is right in her sentiment, for when our mind closes off our connection to our heart, it is as good as asleep to us then too. The way to remove the doubts from our mind is to stop exclusively just working with our minds, and to embrace the working from our hearts first. We have to stop being slaves to our minds. "Let my soul smile through my heart, and my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts." Paramahansa Yogananda, (1893 to 1952) a great Indian Spiritual figure, said this. We need to realise that our soul connects to us through our hearts, and so, as we are really a spiritual entity, living this human existence, with the trappings of our mind, and body attached, we need to be heart people first, for our soul to work best through us, and with us, then too. Our real home is in our heart, and our real self is our soul. Our mind, and body, are not merely adornments to our house, though; they are the house, but it is our heart that makes our house a home for our soul. A house, wherever it is, only ever becomes a home, when it is lived in. Similarly, our heart comes alive in us, when we live from it, or in it, first. Our heart must become our home, and then we will find our soul, which lives in it too. Even God takes up residence in our hearts too, if we invite him into our life too. With God, and our soul, keeping us company, we should never be lonely again. I agree with the way that you said everything and I agree with what you wrote.

Thanks. It is reassuring for me, when somebody agrees with my ideas, and thoughts.

This reminds me of a popular song by Matt Monroe. This line says "refused to let my heart; control my head" from "The Music Played. "

He has a different idea to me though. I am talking about us being spiritual beings by putting love above the desires and wants of our minds. I assume he is talking about human love. He thinks that we should not let human love make us so irrational, or love sick/fatuated, that we ignore the rationality of our minds.

@Nakitakona Mostly when I talk about love in my writings, I am talking about God's type of love, as I do not like trying to talk about the vicissitudes of human love.

@innertalks okay. But it should be taken into consideration. Human's love is preceded by God's love for God is love.

The state of the world is due to our minds, emotions, and egos dictating our agenda. When our hearts take over, we will find instant rapport with others. We will then revel in unity in diversity. Our souls are interconnected too and would lead us to the universal soul. We need to shed our negative ways than think our problems will solve by themselves despite our wayward ways. The writing is on the wall but we pretend not to see it. We can wake up a sleeping person but not one who pretends to!

Yes, a lot of us try to hide in our large outer houses, or bodies, creating a defence all around ourselves, with big egos, arrogance, anger, or even fear. Or in short, as you said, our minds, emotions, and egos determine who we are. We need to come home to our real selves, and live from our hearts. That is the only really true loving way to live, and to connect lovingly with others around us too.

@Shiva49 Yes, love is God's ultimate tool, with which he created all else, and if we join to him with love, all will go smoothly for us in our lives then too.

@innertalks Instead of acting as stumbling blocks, working at cross purposes, we should be enablers of love in action. Love is not a weakness but the oil that fuels creation and keeps it going.
