The Legend of the Sleeping Beauty

In the mountainous region of Tinglayan Kalinga in the Philippines, there is a famous mountain formation that depicts a lady lying down. From afar, one can see it's long stresses, and womanly shape spread over the terrain. Some people call it the 8th wonder of the world just like the stairway to heaven Banawe Rice Terraces. Image source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeping_Beauty_Mountain_%28Kalinga%29#/media/File:SleepingBeauty2180.jpg Many legends were written about how two lovers from warring Kalinga tribes died for their undying love for each other; their death was caused by their own tribes. This is because, during the olden times, tribes fight each other for ancestral boundaries, and no one is allowed to cross these boundaries unless there is a peace pact between both tribes. So, the lovers met accidentally and fell in love but could not consummate their marriage because their tribes were at war. Instead, the supposed-to-be-groom died at the hands of the tribal warriors and the bride died while waiting for him on the mountain top. This legend still exists today. Do you have legends in your country as well? You may want to share them with us so we can get to know your country better. Thank you in advance.

What a sad legend. We surely have many legends, none comes to my mind right now.
