Fraud Once Again

My daughter went over to the convenience store close here and tried to buy herself a drink with her debit card. The machine told her that her account had been closed. So, we called Customer Service and were told there were several questionable transactions on her debit card. Somebody had tried to make a purchase at some clothing store neither of us had ever heard of. So the Fraud Department closed her account and she is supposed to get her new debit card on Monday. I wish whoever keeps doing this would quit. We seem to have a hacker do this about every six months or so. I always immediately change all of the passwords and usernames on accounts affected. I keep making them as odd and different as possible. It sure gets tiresome.

I'm sorry that happened. I keep telling my son how careful he needs to be with debit cards.

They are so convenient but can be a real problem when this happens.

@celticeagle I totally agree. My husband told my son to apply for a credit card because credit cards are easier to get refunded when scams happen.

@celticeagle Oh Yes, They prevent the hackers from getting your money. I’d appreciate that too.

Having my credit card hacked at Easter, I know what that feels like. And because of the holiday, it was more than a week before I got the replacement.

You need to keep track of every place she uses it. Someplace has poor security.

It is the same place each and every time. I wish they would do something cause we do business with them so much.

What a pain! I'm glad Customer Service caught the questionable transactions.

Yes, any time a transaction is different from the norm they do this. It is a pain but, I am thankful for it.
