Nicolas Bostic, 25, was recently honored by city officials in Lafayette Indiana after he risked his life by entering a burning home on Monday around 30 minutes past midnight when he drove a home that was up in flames. Nicolas arrived to the burning home before the Lafayette firefighters arrived at the scene of the home. The parents of the five children were not home at the time of the fire. Even though firefighters have advised persons never to enter a burning home since the firefighters have the equipment to battle the fire, Nicolas admitted that he knew he had to enter the burning home to rescue the girls who were in the age range of 18 years through 1 year of age and a family friend of 13 years of age who was staying inside the home for the evening since seconds count on getting all of the children out of the burning home as soon as possible. Nicolas was able to get out of the burning home through entering the back door since he could not call 911 since he did not have his cellphone on his possession. Nicolas on his first run inside of the burning home was able to save the 18 year old, the two 13 year old and the one year old child leaving behind the six year old child who was in her bedroom. Nicolas admitted that when he entered the burning home to save the six year old girl, he was scared since the room was filled with thick smoke which caused him a hard time to see anything. Despite Nicolas being scared of dying inside the second floor of the burning home, the six year old crying motivated him to rescue her by breaking a window with his fist so they could get away from the burning home before it exploded. Nicolas was taken to a local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and a cut to his arm. He made a full recovery and was released. The five children are safe and sound. Nicolas mentioned that the parents of the children have welcomed him as a member of their family and invited him to dinner. Lafayette city officials praised Nicolas for his act of bravery since it took a lot of courage to enter a burning a two story building without any protection from the flames.

@akanetuk I agree with you since the late actor John Wayne mentioned in one his quotes that a brave person does the right thing even he is scared to die.

That is true since the firefighters have advised that no one should ever try to enter a burning home to attempt to save someone.

@marguicha That is true since courage is doing what is right even if you and I have fear in our hearts.

All of the children are safe and sound. Nicolas went back into the home to save the six year old girl even though he admitted he was scared to die since the house could have exploded.
