Shopping down town.

I went shopping down town again today. Mum was in two minds wether to come or not because she was going to do a bank transfer at the Halifax, but in the end she decided to write a cheque instead and so she didn't come. She did ask if I could look for a book from Waterstones the same as the one she got me because she wanted to give it to her friend for her birthday. It's called "Talking to the Animals" by Noel Fitzpatrick. He's a TV vet and they call him the Super Vet.
I was so enjoying watching Animal Park on TV, which is about Longleat Safari Park, that I decided to watch it to the end and then start to get ready to go shopping. So I started getting ready at 10:45am. I actually set off at about 11:13am.
I walked around the top path by Stowe Pool again. I sat on a bench and took a video of the geese on Stowe Pool. Then I went to the toilet by the Cathedral and checked the video to see how it had come out, because when I was filming it the light was reflecting off my screen and I couldn't see what I was filming!
Next I went to Holland and Barrett and I got some more soy chunks because mine were getting low, and a larger bottle of the Kombucha. It was cherry plum flavour. Yum.
After that I went to The Entertainer toy shop to buy some Lego with my birthday money. What I really wanted was a big house or something to build in Lego. Unfortunately they didn't really have what I wanted. There were no large Lego houses like I wanted. But I saw some Lego road for your Lego city, and a kind of Lego spacecraft. Unfortunately they were too high up for me to reach, so I went to the guy at the till and said, I want some Lego that I can't reach. So he came and reached it down for me. Both sets cost me £36.
Then I went and sat on a bench under cover in a part called Bakers Lane which is off, and part of, the Three Spires Shopping centre. I opened my Kombucha, but it must have been shaken either by me or before it got to the shop, and it fuzzed up all over my legs! It looked like I'd wet myself! (I hadn't, honest!) I hid my wet patch with my sandwich box as I was eating my sandwich. It was Vegan BLT today. When I'd finished my sandwich and drunk some of my drink, I took a picture of the street where I was sitting, (above). When I got up I hid the wet patch on my trousers with the trolley.
Next I went to Rileys for some fruit and vegetables and I got some strawberries, half a cucumber, some cherry tomatoes, a lettuce, some radishes for me and a packet of soft sweets. It came to £8 something.
Then I went to The Works and got some stamps (for card making, not postage stamps), and some paper butterfly embellishments. They came to £3.50 but then I had a coupon from my loyalty card to take off and that took It down to £2.10!
After that I went to Waterstones to look for that book for my Mum but I couldn't find it. There was a different book by Noel Fitzpatrick called "How Animals Saved My Life" but not the one she wanted. So I went out of there empty handed.
Next I went to the Oxfam bookshop and got 5 books, 2 about Wales and 3 Sci-fi. The first one about Wales was about the Big Orme and the second one was about Portmeirion. The Sci-fi books were 3001: The Final Odessy by Arthur C Clarke, a book of short stories by Isaac Asimov and a book co-authored by Isaac Asimov and another chap. The lady at the till said, you like your Science Fiction don't you? And I said yes.
Then I went to the toilet by the Cathedral again before I went home. Then I walked round the top path by Stowe Pool again and filmed another video of the geese.
I walked down the cycle path today because if I went the other way there were some horrible stinging nettles sticking out from the hedge round by the allotments and they cover nearly all the path! When I was going up the cycle path there's a corner that you turn and there's a stream that is usually full up with water. But when I looked down there today the stream was nearly all dried up, there was just a small bit left in the middle. I took a picture to show my Mum, and if you ask I can show you too.
Further down there was a lot of noise going on because Netherstowe School were having a sports day. You could hear the noise from it right up our street.
It was 2:15pm when I got home. I told my Mum that it hadn't been too hot and I told her all about my adventures. Then I told her about the stream and showed her the picture.
I went into my room and made up my Lego road. It has street lights, traffic lights, street signs and little gardens too!
How was your day? Did you do anything exciting?

Good morning and thank you very much. My pleasure. Yes, most of the town centre is pedestrianised. There are some roads on the outskirts that are accessible for cars and sometimes cars do go up a few of the (mostly) pedestrianised streets. But only a few. They do need delivery vans but mostly they go round the back. It would be great if some of your streets were pedestrianised.

@sharonelton I love the idea but where do you park your car? We have some parking decks but I like parking on the street.

@RubyHawk There is a car park just outside the city centre the other side of Stowe Pool. It has an underground part and an above ground part. And some people do park by the side of the streets where cars do go.

You certainly had a very interesting day shopping. Thanks for the picture. For some reason I'm always imagining old, quaint buildings in the UK. This is a modern mall! My day was a little frustrating. We made trip #2 to Boost Mobile; and the rep told me I couldn't swap out my phone because I needed my pin number which was at home. Sigh. We may try again today.

Good morning and thank you very much. My pleasure. We do have some old, quaint buildings in the UK. We have some new ones too. There's quite a mix. I'm sorry your day was frustrating, and you couldn't swap out your phone. I can imagine how frustrating that must be. Better luck next time.

@sharonelton Only two trips to the toilet by the cathedral in all that time? You are very restrained. I’d have gone at least four times, and it’s free of course, that’s the best but.

Good morning and thank you very much. I've started reading the vet book and it's really good. It tells you all about his youth and what made him want to become a vet.

@thislittlepennyearns My brother bought me the Harry Potter Owl in Lego for my birthday one year. I forget what he's called. He is sitting on top of my computer monitor. I don't want to break him up.
