Dooars is part of north Bengal. In bengali there is a word called Duar meaning door. The place is the door to neighbouring foreign countries Tibet Nepal Bhutan and China. Brinjal is cultivated here in wide farms. There are cover farming with potato plantations and carrot plantations which does not allow the main crop to decrease the fertility of the soil. The entire cultivation is carried out at great height around 5000 feet above sea level.
