Poetry: The painfulness of ignorance

I knew that I was ignorant.
I just didn't know the truth.
I was angry that I never knew.
I was angry with my unknowing.
Arrogance says that it knows.
Humility says it knows nothing.
Both states are not for me, though.
I just want to know the truth.
We do not need knowledge,
to know our ignorance is there.
Knowledge hides ignorance,
only truth lays it truly bare.
Truth is always the truth.
Knowledge can come, and go.
To know one's ignorance
is often not knowledge, but pride.
We know nothing,
except that we know nothing.
Only God knows the real truth,
of it all; we remain ignorant.
When we smile at ignorance,
we smile really, directly at God.
His humour completes itself,
when we see through his humour.

Wisdom, not knowledge, sees truth. Ignorance, like knowledge, is a one-way street.

And an arrogant ignorant person will always stay ignorant too, as the arrogance blocks any truth from coming into them too.
An ignorant person, without arrogance, can be helped.

Ignorance is bliss for the know-all.
Our creator has clipped our wings before sending us here. He knows how we take advantage of kindness - give an inch we grab a yard.
No harm in searching though and come to own conclusions like the blind feeling an elephant.

@Shiva49 And yet, the boofheads in charge, think that they are acting wisely, and that their brand of wisdom is the only right brand.
Even when they are booted out, they leave, still beating their own chests too, and making as much noise about how wise they were in their positions too.
A sad state of affairs indeed!

@innertalks In a few countries it is how good they are and how evil their opponents are.
In fact, they are equally blameworthy in deceiving the hapless common people who have to suffer them all their lives without respite.

@innertalks Yes, the majority gets the short end of the stick as they are played out time and time again.
We are left with putting out the fire deliberately set and we repeat mistakes and nauseum.
Wisdom is hardly at play in our daily lives and we seem to be powerless to right our course.
A sad commentary on our state of affairs.
