Yeah you guys have seen a post with that title from me in a loooooooooooooong time. My dad is able to bring a guest to Planet Fitness so I met him there this morning as I didn't have to go to IOP. He had a workout set up from some app he has on his phone. I just went along with him as I hadn't given it much thought as to what I wanted to do and I didn't know how all of the equipment was set up. We did bench press, shoulder shrugs, squats, bicep curls, tricep pushes, cable cross overs, fly machine, ab crunches, front raises, and lateral raises. I would have liked to have done some more leg stuff but I just went with it since it was my first time. Being there reminded me why I always loved working out at The Lift. The Lift has no mirrors so you don't see meatheads performing for themselves in front of them. I also had to roll my eyes (internally) when I noticed that said meatheads were so focused on their biceps and pecs to the total neglect of their legs. They are all big on top on these little toothpick legs. It looks absurd. Still this gym is 15 minutes away rather than 45. One of the perks of the Black Membership (aside from bringing a guest) is the use of tanning beds and hydromassage beds. We did the hydromassage and it was incredible. You lay on this sort of reclining bed and your back, butt, and legs are massaged by water jets squirting up against them. (you are fully clothed and do not get wet) I cranked the pressure intensity up to 8/10 and it was awesome. It was just 10 minutes but it was a lovely 10 minutes. I am considering getting a membership there myself. Yes I can go with my dad but if I had my own membership (only $20/month) then I wouldn't have to worry about going when it fits into his schedule.

I'm so happy to read this post. I remember how well you enjoyed working out, and the special bond that you share with your Dad. I thought of that when you posted about going into rehab, and I hoped that this was not far off. I used to go to a chiropractor back in the early 2000's and he had a bed like that, only it was for the top half of your back, like from the butt up to the shoulders. I really felt great after getting up from it. If they were easy to purchase I'd have one for sure.

$20 is nothing compared to your old membership. You will get a lot of use out of the gym.
