The new GST on daily food items will leave common man starving.

The Indian government has levied GST on milk, curd, puffed rice, flattened rice and more. This will burn a hole into the pockets of the common man. People will start going without these essential items and the result would be mal nutrition and more deaths due to it. A poor labourer used to take some puffed rice when he felt hungry while working. Now he has to cut down of them and has to go hungry if needed. Do we call this humanity on the part of the Indian government? The politicians are elected to serve the people of their country and not levy heavy taxes to starve them to death.

They will be voted out if they continue on that trend.

They know they will be voted out in the next election and are therefore making money now.

That is deplorable. Isn’t there other cheap food that can be eaten instead?

That is horrible, and what is the matter with them? Why levy taxes on things people need to survive? Maybe picketing could be arranged.

Picketing won't work. Most political parties in India make money bu increasing the taxes. The common people in India are fed up of the politicians.

That's true the small businesses are going to suffer a loss with people cutting short on their food budget.

One wonders if anyone was paying attention to what they were "selling" before they elected them. This is always part of the problem, at least here in the United States. Beware the one who say they've got your back. Usually they don't.

Yes the politicians come to power to enjoy and secure their future and seldom work for the betterment of the country's people.

India is a democratic country. Can people voice their opinion and stop the government from doing so?
