Well, that is confusing. But it doesn’t have to be. Today ends the alphabetical (and numerical) order for the 40-year-old songs, and tomorrow starts my top ten from 1982. Let’s go out with a party!
1999 - Prince
Just think, 1999 was 23 years ago. The song “1999” was forty years ago.
When Prince did this song he had no idea about things like a “Y2K virus” or any of that other stuff we ended up worrying about.
Sadly, in 2016 it was “Party over, out of time” for this incredibly talented man who so seamlessly blended soul, funk, and rock in his music. He was only 57. 
He left us all a lot of great music to dance our lives away to.
