An unexpected piece of artifact.

We had a dead areca nut tree which I asked the gardener to uproot. He cut it down and dug up the roots. He gave me a surprise when the roots he dug up had a piece of the areca nut tree and a clump of soil around it. That is what you see in the photo. I placed a small contained in the hollow of the dead stump and put a cuttin of othe tiger tail. We will lacquer it to preserve it.
