April Jones who was aboard her small boat in Dauphin Island Alabama with her family was scared when she was hit by a five foot eagle sting ray that injured the right side of her body while she and her relatives were attending a fishing rodeo on Friday afternoon over a week ago.
The eagle sting ray who is female jumped out of the water when she landed on the boat, broke the fishing poles and scared the boater since they thought the eagle sting ray was a shark.
The tragic part of this incident was that the female eagle sting ray had given birth to four babies who died aboard the boat.
The Jones family asked for help after the giant eagle sting ray landed on their boat. When the authorities came to assist the family to get back to the shore, the deceased puppies were taken to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab for further study.
The female eagle sting ray who weighs around 500 pounds who did survive the crash into the boat was then taken to the sea where she will be able to live out her life in the sea.
The odds of a giant sea turtle hitting a boater who is on the sea are very rare. You and I have a better chance winning a small prize playing lottery tickets than being hit by a giant sting ray.
I have heard of fishing rodeos that are sponsored by my high school alma mater but I have never heard of a giant sea turtle hitting a boat or crashing into the boat.

I'm not aware of fishing rodeo. What I know is rodeo on horse.

Fishing rodeo is a term used in the southern states of the U. S. My high school in Metairie Louisiana always invites me to a fishing rodeo but since I have on the other side of southeast Louisiana, it is impossible for me to go to New Orleans.

@Deepizzaguy That's new to me. Aside from fishing, what the fishermen are doing there at the fishing rodeo?

The babies were left in the boat. I doubt that a stingray can survive out of water. April probably had the authorities deal with the animal since the stingray does not like to be touched by their enemies.

@Deepizzaguy You’re right. They can’t live out of the water. I wonder why they didn’t put the babies in the water.

@RubyHawk I would like to know how they take care of babies in the water as well.

I have a soft heart so I feel sorry for the mama eagle sting ray and also for the family who were scared, I sure wish those babies had survived,

I was also hoping that the babies of the stingray would have survived as well.

These kinds of stories can qualify for "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" magazines or television shows.

I have never seen a giant, eagle sting ray. 500 pounds is a large sea creature! She was probably in pain, giving birth.

That is what April said to the news reporter that interviewed her after the story made the news in the region.

@Deepizzaguy April figured the female eagle sting ray was going through birthing pain.

@kobesbuddy April did tell the local news reporter that the sting ray must have under stress when she jumped out of the water and landed on her boat.
