Whoever is responsible for throwing a dog off a bridge into the Harlem River in y opinion does not have a heart of goodness in them. Thank goodness that someone who was in the Harlem River hanging on to the dog to keep him afloat when the Marine unit of the New York Fire Department answered an emergency call to rescue the dog from drowning in the river on Tuesday afternoon. New York Fire Department Lieutenant Salvatore Sodano led the team to get the dog out of the Harlem river to the shore where the dog would be given medical care. The dog that was injured in the incident is being taken care of at a local animal care center. Hopefully the dog will be able to find a home to a loving family that needs the friendly love of the dog. What happened to the man that was seen keeping the dog afloat in the river is not known at this time. The police in New York City are in search of the person who showed no kindness to a dog that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The silver lining in this post is that the dog is alive after taking a fall from a bridge into the river thanks to the actions of the Marine unit of the New York Fire Department.

That’s so terrible. At least someone was there to hold him up until the Fire Department got there Sounds like the dog will be all right.

I am sure that the dog will be taken care by the veterinarians in the hospital before being sent to an animal shelter.

I would like to toss the person that did this off the same bridge. This is horrible; and I hope the dog wasn't injured badly.

I have heard many people who are either on the internet or have a platform on radio saying that they would like to give a person who mistreats an animal the same method on them what they did to an animal as punishment.

@LindaOHio Thank you for sharing the good news about the harsher penalties of persons who abuse dogs and cats.

@Deepizzaguy Absolutely. There are getting to be harsher penalties for animal cruelty which is great.

I am very glad the dog is going to be all right, but I often think in these situations, show no mercy, If they found the person who tossed that dog from the bridge, then toss him off the bridge, Of course, you can not. just go and kill or injure someone but if they just put a floating device on the river and then tossed him to give him a really good fright, he might realize what an awful thing he did to that poor doggy,

I have seen vlogs on You Tube saying that anyone who attempts to harm a dog should be given the same treatment so they would get the message that dogs have feelings like humans do.

That's really awful that someone would do that to a dog. I'm glad it was able to be saved.

My heart breaks to see that some people are so cruel to dogs like that.

By nature dogs know how to swim.
