I didn't feel the earthquake

Philippines
July 26, 2022 10:41pm CST
THis morning I went to buy some groceries. Nothing out of the ordinary when I walk home. Until one of the tenants told me the earth quake happened! Then I went back to the store and it was the talk of the town. I asked one of the food stalls and they said it was strong. Maybe I was walking and busy strolling for stuff in the market that I didn't realy noticed it. Hope it doesn't get bigger than that, we don't have structures like that in Japan. Not to mention we got cracks on the walls already.

Oh wow, you didn't feel it? That's strange but I guess when you were busy walking around you didn't notice since you were in motion that is why you were not aware of what is happening around you. Anyway, since this was just a minor quake in our area that is why you weren't that affected and not felt the quake.

@jefferson126 The 7.0 magnitude happened in Northern Luzon. I think it was much lower in our place although there was a mild earthquake that happened in our location.

I am used to the shaking of the earthquake. We have this quite often but none was destroyed heavily. I hope it will never again for us to experience the earthquake.

If your country is part of the ring of fire, there's no doubt that it's going to shake again @yanzalong we just have to remember our drills.

@yanzalong,because of your country's location,earthquake is inevitable.Drills towards earthquake was improtant,i think.

I heard it was a very strong earthquake. I am glad that you didn't feel it. At least there would not be a panic for you.

@Letranknight2015 ,the persons near old and vulnerable structures got a lot of risk,it's reasonable they were panic.In case the structure collapsed,probably will damage them.The sensible behaviour is to keep far away from old structure when the earthquake occured.

Earthquakes can vary so much in intensity. We have a lot in New Zealand, a few major ones, but most nothing to worry about.

@Letranknight2015 it's on the news here in New Zealand today, apparently in the northern part of the country.

I felt it because I was sitting still in my chair while doing myLot. I thought I was sick because my head is so dizzy then I suspect it was an earthquake since I rarely get dizzy
