Siesta / myLot

Since I'm not working at the moment except for at home (a very few flute and piano lessons) and there are "heat stroke" warnings out every day between 10:00 and 5:00 pm, I have discovered the siesta. I now understand why some Mediterranean cultures have this custom. I have been taking a nap in my cooled, darkened bedroom between 1 and 3 in the afternoon, when the cats are also asleep and not bugging me to play or feed them. I get up refreshed and have avoided the hottest part of the day. Usually I only go out before 10:00 or after 6:00 and it works fine. Do you take an afternoon nap?

Yes I take an afternoon nap between 1 to 3 in the afternoon.

@petatonicsca I could fall asleep at any time of the day on a washing line. Nighttime is a difficult time for me to sleep. When I was growing up in Malawi we always had an afternoon sleep, although it was never all that hot.

I am happy that some cultures have the afternoon nap. It does make it hard to fall asleep at night, though.
