When will veterans wake up and realize the Republicans

don't care about them one bit.
Out of sheer spite, Mitch McConnell told the Senate GOP Caucus to vote against the PACT Act that would have provided funding for additional services to veterans suffering the truly horrific effects of burn pit exposure. This was a bill the GOP had ensured veterans' groups they would vote for just the week before.

The reality that EVERYBODY in America has to get through their heads is that no politician or political party don’t care about them one bit. They talk things because they’re appealing to a voting bloc. How long did politicians talk about Agent Orange before something was actually done for the veterans suffering with it? One of our putting pros is suffering the effects from the toxic water at Camp Lejune, but it’ll take another 20 years of politicians promising to do something until something is done.
The sadder reality is that people don’t even care what someone says anymore, they just look for the (R) or the (D). Well, I’m a registered Republican but I guaran-dang-tee you I’m voting against Rand Paul in November.

@wolfgirl569 I'm unaffiliated because I have a lot of mistrust for politicians of both stripes. That said, there is now a much wider gulf between Ds and Rs than since the Civil War. The Ds want fair share taxation and basic services available to everyone at affordable rates. The Rs want to establish a White fauxChristian Theocracy. This does make the choice easier.

I am registered democrat but actually in the middle of both parties. It is easier to make a choice once they have got in office so you can see a track record on them. But by then you have had to suffer with the bull crap that many years from them.

McConnell needs voted out. He is mad that he is not the boss anymore. All he cares about is control. Remember it wasnt that long ago that he wouldnt even allow bills to go up for vote.

He’s not up for re-election until 2026. Hopefully we can ditch Rand Paul this year, though.

@wolfgirl569 — I’m in Kentucky, so I can’t do a thing about Ted Cruz. But I can do something about Rand Paul the first Tuesday in November.

More like a poisonous snake!
It's way, way past time for Mitch to take a hike.

I am not sure that it is out of spite--I am thinking that by making the spending discretionary rather than mandatory, that they can just not choose to fund it later on down the line--it is really, really awful--these service personnel were injured while working for the US government--if you think about is a worker's comp claim shouldn't the government pick up the tab for their health care?

It's cyclical, and a repeat of the 1920s and 1930s. The fear-mongering, xenophobic, racist, white Europeans and their descendants around the world are scared of the growing influence of other ethnic groups and will do anything to maintain their power base.

@Ronrybs Here in the US, the right-wing is trying to erase any history that paints whites in a negative light and remove all references to accomplishments by people of color. They are also trying to roll back women's rights and LGBTQ+ rights as fast as they can.
