I went to Church again today. My weather app said light rain so I wore a light raincoat with hood over my brown patterned dress. I took my own tea bag with me as usual and had it in a proper mug. We sang a few songs and then Steve, our Pastor, talked a bit about communion before we actually had communion, which were in the little pots again. But this time they weren't put on each seat, but they were put on tables, 2 tables at the front of the Church and 1 table at the back. Steve told us to share communion, rather than just go and get one for yourself. Jane, the Pastors wife, offered to get one for my Mum and me, but other people kept coming up and offering us some too! After we'd had communion we sang a few more songs. Then Steve asked people to shout a word of praise before we had our final song. My Mum was going to get a lift off her friend Frances, but Frances was going to take a lady called Brenda home first. I walked home as usual. In August Church is going to be different. On 7th and 21st August we're going to have Cafe Church in the Church, and on 14th and 28th August we're having picnics in Beacon Park. This is because, as it's summer, a lot of people are away on their summer holidays and stuff. (Cafe Church is where we have tables out and we drink tea and coffee while sitting round the tables and have a service at the same time.) How was your day?

The Cafe Church and picnics sound interesting. Something a little different. I hope you have a good week.

Thechurvh My sisters church has what they call dinner on the ground about twice a year. Everyone brings food and drinks. They use tables so the food isn’t on the ground. They have a community room next tothe church with a kitchen and a huge dining hall.

@sharonelton I think most churches have some sort of large room for dining.

That sounds really good. We have a "Sports Hall" that's used for more than sports. It's also where we have refreshments sometimes (if we have refreshments after the meeting) and is also used as a dining room. When my Mum goes to the luncheon club on a Thursday, they have that in the Sports Hall. Although the luncheon club is on its summer holidays at the moment.

I'm glad you can see Church online. That's what I did during lockdown, although I was watching a Church called Freedom Church.

That's good. I do like the little communion pots. They have a wafer in the top part, and then juice in the bottom section. I was very careful opening the bottom section, and opened it close to the floor, because i didn't want to spill it on my dress!

That's great that your church thinks of innovative things to do. I'm sure it helps people bond more.

Yes, it does. It was very good. Next week will be good too. I don't know for sure if we'll be going to Beacon Park on those days, but we'll see.
