Swimming in the shallows / myLot

These baby birds are smart. They know they should not go into the deep. They are swimming in the shallows all glued together - probably giving each other moral support. This takes me to the time I was swimming I too never went into the deep but swam in the children's pool. Never had courage to go to the adult pool. What's your swimming experience?.

I am not a good swimmer. My daughters and husband are excellent swimmers. But I join them whenever they go out for swimming.

@allknowing I do not swim these days..I wish I could ..there is a pool across the way from me here but I wont go over too many kids. Yes, I trained when I was a young woman.

I love this photo!

Pretty and I are both good swimmers. We like to go to the lake about 30 minutes from our house and swim at night. There are few, if any, people there after dark so we can swim without people watching us or bothering us. I drowned when I was 18 and went swimming in a river with friends. One of my friends pulled me out and gave me mouth-to-mouth and saved my life. That never stopped me from swimming, though.

Is that a man made lake as a natural one may have reptiles in them. Good you got saved - swimming in a river could be quite unsafe because of the currents.

@allknowing It is a natural lake that got expanded to act as a water reservoir for two cities nearby. There are venomous snakes in it but they won't bother people as long as the people leave them alone. Yeah, the current was too fast and I couldn't swim against it very well. I got too tired and couldn't reach the shore. I was pulled under and drowned.
