Mark Miller who graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1979 is happy that after he lost his high school class ring two months after he graduated. Mark lost his high school ring while he was playing soccer during his physical education class during his senior year. Thanks to Phillip Schwartz who was using a metal detector on the grounds of Ravenswood High School. Mark had to contact members of the Ravenswood community to find the owner since the only clue was the initials "M Q M" since Mark's mom had passed away, Mark did not have a chance to have his chance to have his picture taken for the yearbook. Thanks to Mark's high school teacher Chase Jarrell who knows Mark personally, he contacted his former student to give him the good news of his class ring being found by Phillip who decided to give back the ring he found since it is the right thing to do to return property that did not belong to him. Mark is very happy to reunite with his class ring that he lost 43 years ago. As the late comedian Jackie Gleason would say "How sweet it is."

I know Mark was overjoyed to have his class ring back. How lucky that Philip was on the grounds with a metal detector. The ring must have been there all these years.

The ring was buried about a foot deep into the grass near the school grounds when Phillip was able to find it with his metal detector.

@Deepizzaguy That’s amazing that Philip found the ring after all these years. It had been sinking deeper in the ground every day.

@RubyHawk That is true since I am sure the storms that hit the region did sink the ring deeper into the ground.

Phillip realized that the missing ring belonged to someone who really needed it more than he did.

That's great that Mark now has his class ring back. We don't have those here.

At least Phillip did seek help from one of Mark's former teachers to help him find the owner of the ring since he did not have his picture from the yearbook as a guide.
