A bear who decided to get away from his home in the woods in Santa Barbara on Wednesday since the bear wanted to get away from the dry weather by breaking into a home and get a drink of water inside of the laundry room. The laundry room did suffer minor damage by having a water pipe being broken by the bear. The owner of the home did contact the Santa Barbara firefighters to remove the bear since the owner could not get the bear out of his home by himself due to the fear of being attacked by the bear. The firefighters were able to escort the bear out of the home. The bear did leave the home and climbed up a tree. Thank goodness no one was hurt in the incident on Wednesday afternoon. It is bad enough that a drought has hit the area so hard that a bear had to break into a home and get a drink of water in the laundry room.

That is true since most law enforcement officials do not believe in killing an animal unless it is in self defense.

Poor bear he must have been very thirsty. If I saw a bear in the house I’d get out as fast as possible. It’s good the firefighters got the bear without anyone getting hurt including the bear.

@RubyHawk I am happy living in a state that has alligators in the water away from my neighborhood.

I would do the same thing since seeing a huge animal like a bear inside of a home is very scary.

Poor bear. It must have been pretty desperate for a drink.

I know what you mean since the bad weather in California is causing problems with both humans and bears.

The poor bear just needed a break from the heat and extreme conditions. I'm so glad that it was wasn't harmed and that no people were hurt.

That is true since no one wants to see a bear or human get hurt in any circumstance.

It is quite horrible to see that. I hope this bear will know this is not a nice place to stay and hopefully this bear won't return. It will be good for both sides.

That's good. The house owner wasn't found by the bear.
