Picking up 2 new-to-me goodies tomorrow

I have a few items listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. While checking on them I was shown local things that others were selling. My eye was immediately caught by a Le Creuset covered Dutch Oven for $10. I asked the seller what the size was and he replied 2.5 quarts. I was like "SOLD!" Not only am I always looking to add to my Le Creuset collection but I will be happy to have a smaller size since I am just cooking for myself these days. I told the seller that I would pick it up tomorrow morning. He then told me that he had a similar Descoware covered baking dish that he would give me for another $10. I did some quick googling and couldn't find much about how much Descoware is worth these days. It was made about 100 years ago in Belgium and is enameled cast iron like Le Creuset but it is thinner and therefore lighter. People favored Descoware for that reason. Even Julia Child recommended it. For that reason Le Creuset bought the Descoware line and shut it down. I found something very similar to what I am getting listed on eBay for $80. That means nothing to me because you can list things on there for whatever price you want. I see mass-produced Beanie Babies listed for $500 when you can't even get $5 for them in real life. My uncle's sister does estate sales and antique stuff so I sent her a message asking what she thought. I plan to buy it no matter what. I love collection cooking stuff and especially enameled cast iron. If Julia Child liked this stuff then I definitely want to check it out. Stay tuned!

Sounds like a good deal to me! I have started picking up those type of pots and pans as well, because we now have an induction hob so aluminium pans and most stainless steel will not work on it.
