I think that we are in the starts of a recession and anyone that says otherwise is in denial.
That being said, what are you doing to save money or make your money stretch?
I started couponing. Let me tell you, this is not the couponing of old where we had binders of paper coupons and had to buy multiple papers for the coupons. I only use store apps.
I do most of my couponing at Dollar General. I follow someone on tik tok called @torok.coupon.hunter she breaks down the store, the coupons you need, and shows you exactly what to get. Along with what you'll pay before taxes. I check her daily.
A great example is this past Saturday at Dollar General.
Here is a breakdown of what you put in your cart, cost, money saved, and money spent before tax.
Febreeze spray can for $4
Any Arm & Hammer laundry soap for $4.25
6pk Sparkle paper towels for $7.50
(2) Oral B toothbrushes for $1/ea
Colgate Max toothbrush for $3.35
Colgate Max Fresh toothpaste for $2.95
Any $1 item (I would have picked up a $1 Gain dish soap)
All that totals out for $26.05
We are going to "clip" $17.50 in coupons
Leaving us to pay $8.55 before tax
Which translates to paying for the paper towels and a tooth brush while getting laundry soap, air freshener, a tooth brush, tooth paste, and any $1 item for FREE. Pay for 2 items, get 5 items FREE.
All only using your phone.
How this works is you sign up with the DG app and as part of sign up you'll enter your phone number. When you see a coupon in the app you like you tap it and it saves it to your phone number. When you get to the checkout they'll have you put in your phone number and your coupons come off automatically. It's so easy.

I've used DG before but they don't usually have coupons for the things I use on the regular. My husband and I are good about saving money though.

I am doing surveys for MyPoints.com where coupons from Wal Mart as well as Amazon and other companies offer when I reach the points required by doing surveys and making purchases.
