After dinner in the evening, my sister and I walked to the fruit supermarket and bought half a large watermelon. It's dark on the way home. Because of the heavy rain this year, there are a lot of mosquitoes. There are a lot of mosquitoes near the grass.?The dahlias in the yard are blooming. It's very beautiful.Originated in Mexico, Mexicans regard it as a symbol of generosity and prosperity, so they regard it as the national flower.I took the picture in the yard.

It is one of the Chinese New Year flowers here. Perhaps you know we have Flower Streets before the Chinese New Year and we like to buy different flowers to decorate our home. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, such an event was cancelled for two years.

The dahlia is beautiful. We have been so dry this summer that there are hardly any mosquitoes around our subdivision this summer. (Pretty is normally bitten several times when she goes out to mow but has only gotten bitten once this year. It's nice!) We buy several watermelons at the same time and can finish one in two or three days. We love eating watermelons.

Yesterday we bought a small watermelon, which is yellow and not delicious.I bought a big watermelon today. It's red inside. It's very sweet. Half a watermelon, about 5kg.

@zhangxueying I like yellow-meated watermelons but only if they were grown around the Arkansas River. I don't know why that makes a taste difference, but it does. Mostly we buy red-meated watermelons, too. Ohhh... those are big! One watermelon we buy weighs 5 kg.

Frost in winter browned the buds abd leaves. They look dismal at the moment.

It can't spend the winter outside. Dig out the roots and put them in the house

It's so beautiful. Glad to know about it's history. Here in India too, rains going nonstop. Thankfully mosquitoes have reduced a little. Though we keep mosquitoes repellent liquid at night. Take care
