Poetry: Be bored with your boredom

A bored dog is often an ignored dog. Do not ignore boredom.

The bored are always bored. The active are always active. Boredom sits alone in itself. Activeness sits amongst others. Choose life, and not death. Boredom is a form of death. Activity is a form of life. Love life enough not to be bored. Boredom is a type of suffering. Everything doesn't count to it. Boredom is not a choice. It is the result of not choosing. There is one good type of boredom, becoming bored with boredom. This being bored of being bored, bores you into action, into life. Moving towards boredom, should not be ignored. Nobody can afford to stay bored, for so long, it becomes a reward. Photo Credit: The photo used in this article was sourced from the free media site, pixabay.com A bored dog is often an ignored dog. Boredom is circumstantial. It does happen to anyone who is exposed to a monotonous, lazy moment or situation

Yes, I would mostly agree with that, but disposition, and attitude, also affects, if we become bored. If we are lazy, and not motivated, or uninterested in anything much, we are more often likely to become bored. The busy, motivated, and interested person, does not often become bored. And so boredom can result from our environment, but also our disposition mindset, and outlook on life, our attitude does partly determine if we become bored in any one situation too.

@Nakitakona Yes, l agree. Some who commentated here said that they kept too busy to be bored, but like you said, everybody will feel boredom, at some stage of their life.

@innertalks But boredom is unavoidable. It's a part and parcel of everyone's life.

Philosophical and witty poem. I identify with the words in real life application. It reminded me of Shel Silverstein.

Thanks. I like to write both poetry and short stories here, from time to time. Yes, if we are bored, we should try to become aware of why we are bored, and bore into ourselves deeply to ascertain why. Boredom comes to us for a reason, and there is usually some mindset, or reason, that we have in us, behind that outer display of boredom.

Thanks. Yes, time is a factor. When we are waiting in a queue, or at an airport, useless waiting can be boring, at times. When we are ill, our time seems to be consumed by that illness too, at times. We have to work around illness, and its limitations, to our lives.

@arthurchappell Yes, as we get older, annoying little inconveniences spring up from nowhere, sometimes. I am having trouble with over-salivation at the moment, which annoys me more at night, as it is hard to sleep with a mouthful of saliva, and the need to swallow it, all of the time, every few minutes. I am taking a tablet, for an enlarged prostate condition, which is very acidic, and I suspect that that is the cause. One thing leads to another, and the doctor gave me another tablet to counter the acidity, which annoys me too, to have to take another tablet to counter the side effects of the first.
