Why Does The Body Physically Hurt When We Lose Someone We Love?

August 18, 2022 10:49am CST
Everyone experiences loss at one time or another. If you haven't experienced loss, keep on living. It hurts so much when this happens. Even with us knowing that we are all going to leave here one day. Why does the body physically hurt when we lose someone we love?

It happens because our brains can't tell the difference between physical pain and mental pain and anguish. I was reading a scientific study on this subject a few days ago and found it very interesting. The same part of the brain that "feels" pain when we get injured is activated when we lose someone we love.

Because emotions are painful, and some emotional pain puts physical strain on the body. It sucks, but it's part of life.

I think DE (Daddy Evil) explained it best. Losing someone gives you mental and physical pain.

Not physically hurt... It would be emotionally and mentally.

Because we are not just physical being. We have souls. We are spiritual beings.

The body and brain are fascinating. I do not know the complete biology though of why this would happen.

When the mind is hurting, our body too follows. We need to come out of the grieving but time heals.
