I usually avoid mustard paste but I thought of making something different and special today from the prawns. This is a special dish from Bengal. We call it " Chingri Macher Malaikari". The dish is very easy but it's the most preferred in Bengal. The prawns are just mixed with a paste of mustard, coconut, ginger and green chilly and some mustard oil. Add sugar and salt according to your taste and just steam it. The dish though is a bit heavy but very tasty. It tastes best with rice or fried rice and so I made it for lunch. I made the raita to neutralize the coconut and mustard oil.

@FayeHazel Mustard is hot but you can take anything made of yogurt as a combination with the curry just as I made raita from yogurt, cucumber and onions.

I can imagine the delectable dish already! "Steam"? How? The small/medium pot of prawns and paste mixture on a dish of water to steam? Sorry for my ignorance. I'd like to try the Bengal dish.

The mustard paste with other ingredients are mixed with the prawn in a metal bowl. This bowl is cooked under pressure. I used the pressure cooker. You can take water in a wok put the metal bowl with prawn and the ingredients and cover it and keep it over slow flame to steam it.
