For those of you who’ve been enduring the country music for the past two days, it’s time to reward you with something else. One more country song (and a bluegrass song) to come, but for now we turn back to “the regular stuff” for today’s song with “talk” in the title. And, for you newcomers, I really do listen to both yesterday’s song and today’s song. #7: Jive Talkin’ - Bee Gees Hopefully everyone knew this one was coming. After all, this was on my ten favorite Bee Gees songs list. If you grew up in the 70s, as I did, you probably were sick to death of these guys by 1978, thanks to Saturday Night Fever. I’ve never owned that album. Disco Bee Gees isn’t my cup of tea. You might say this is disco, but it’s really not. It’s danceable, sure, but hardly “You Should Be Dancing.” And if you don’t know the difference in “disco” and “dance”: if you like the song, it’s dance; if you don’t, it’s disco. Enjoy this blast from the past. Jive Talkin’ Written by Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb Recorded by The Bee Gees From Main Course, 1975 So misunderstood:

Love it! I also loved the disco era of the Bee Gees. I think Saturday Night Fever was an outstanding album.

I’m more a first and second-generation fan of their stuff, as I said in the countdown. But nobody can dispute the popularity of that soundtrack!

They did play it a whole lot when it was a hit…then they started playing the disco stuff more. Not every song is universally popular, so you don’t have to wonder why it didn’t appeal to you.

FINALLY I get one of your favorites!!!!! My favorite Bee Gees song is “Edge of the Universe,” which was on the same album.

Oh, I was a HUGE fan of the Bee Gees in the day, and I distinctly remember when this song came out! I thought to myself, "Now, this is what music is supposed to sound like!" But I'm like you; I got kind of burnt out by disco towards the end.

I did a Bee Gees countdown at Linda’s request. It was all the 60s-mid 70s stuff.
