The violet hibiscus plant attracts ants.

My violet hibiscus plant is planted in pots in the balcony. The gardener who sold me the plant told me to be careful about ants which can spoil the plant. Regularly I dig up the soil to verify whether the ants are there or not. The plant is still giving lovely violet flowers which look beautiful.

@sathviksouvik We like the flowers when they bloom, but the plant is not "full" yet. I would love to see the violet ones . . . I don't see that here.

Very pretty plant !! You have indeed preserved the plant very much!
We also have a good number of plants but somehow do not dig up or rotate the soil regularly.
Perhaps we need to do it more frequently!

However due to climate change, we now sometimes have less rainy August and some rains in September (randomly) but yes I think Kolkata might be getting more rains.
From October, you would need to water more.

It's such a gorgeous colour. I am tempted to get one for my hibiscus collection. Hibiscus flowers as such attract ants. All the varieties that I have attract ants.
