People still excited about going back to the Moon?

For the last few days, the hype of Artemis I had been all over youtube in almost every single news agencies channel. But it turns out, it was the very first test of this rocket. For the longer mission, not only they will visit the moon, they will also create a space station over the moon. Then I found out they will launch it on the 29th, so close. For me, it's about time. Not excited about it much though but I hope when they do land on mars, i would alive on that time.

Space exploration will continue. But I think it will take quite a long while before people can live on Mars.

Maybe I would be too old to even notice astronauts living on mars @Beestring they need to settle on the moon first.

I agree with you @Beestring with all the politics and delays, it's gonna take awhile.

There are still a lot of things that have to be figured out before people can land on and live on Mars. I hope I'm still alive to see that happen.

Probably take two decades or more for something like that to happen @DaddyEvil

I think it is more they just excited with how they trying to make space survivable. Did you hear about the new space suits. Something about if crap breaks down Astronauts can survive 144 hours outside until help arrives. Pretty cool.

@Letranknight2015 Yeah, that makes sense, I kind of think they working together if I remember right. I am not a fan of Elon Musk anymore but he is very good at hiring smart people and then he takes the credit.

I hope that too. But it seems a lot has to be done before we can land on Mars. Hope that it's done in our lifetime. Anyway space exploration is a continuous thing. We might get to see and hear something else exciting.

Hello @arunima25 Well, there will be a lot of testing from time to time anyways.

@Letranknight2015 Yes, there would be. Man has always been curious to know more about the space and many of its mysteries. It will always ignite the curious minds.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing people land on the Moon again, although that's still at least a couple of years off - the Human Landing System has to be developed and tested first. I just wish NASA wasn't going to be using the SLS rocket to get crews to Lunar orbit. Although it's derived from Space Shuttle technology, the SLS is totally expendable. Establishing a base on the Moon won't be economical until the organisations doing it use re-usable spacecraft to get the transportation costs down. It's a first step though, and hopefully NASA and ESA will switch to re-usable launch vehicles before too long.

Hello @VictorFrankenstein I have no idea what tech they are using with regards to lunar orbit, I was thinking its new. We hope more corporations and nations would get involved. The shuttle was reusable too.

@Letranknight2015 It's been in the works for quite a long time. There's heavy co-operation with the European Space Agency (who are providing the service module for the Artemis capsule), and ESA, the Canadian Space Agency and (I think) the Japanese are all involved in building the Gateway space station which will be put in orbit around the Moon. Plus private companies like Space X and Rocket Lab are getting contracts to support the programme. Hopefully it's the start of building up an infrastructure that will eventually support permanent human settlement on the Moon. I'm looking forward to the launch attempt later on today.

@VictorFrankenstein Looks like I spoke to soon. The launch has been scrubbed again. Trouble with a hydrogen leak. The next attempt will be in a couple of days.

I think humans came from Mars, after they used it all up and turned it into a wasteland.

Nope not interested and excited about the moon mission anymore. It's old school hype. I'm more excited about the MARS mission by SpaceX. I wish I'm still alive at the landing date. They say the first human mission to land on mars will be in 2030.

They need to settle the moon so the journey to mars won't be as consuming compare to launch coming from earth @solidcodes I would still be alive by then, but i doubt it would be 2030.
