I think i made a very bad purchase online

I bought an oven toaster online for about $35. I think it's like 25 Liter capacity. Like medium sized one. It's cheap but it's just a no name brand. Like China made. The problem is it took like 10 minutes in highest temperature setting possible just to get a slice of bread to get that crunchy , bit overcooked bread. Before my old small ordinary toaster that costs like $12 can burn a bread in less than 5 minutes. And heats up very fast. But this new one takes a minute or two before it heats up. That's why i bought a new one , the old one got a big smoke after we forgot to turn it off after few minutes. This one i think will be much safer to use just because it's not that good or the temperature isn't hot enough for its size. But I'll still use it. But i don't think i can cook pizza on it. It's like it can heat up slices of bread and warm up some food. i prefer buying pizza than cooking my own as it saves more money. As the cost electricity here is high.

I suppose that the oven toaster you bought is not powerful enough. My ordinary toaster burn the bread in 2 minutes.

By aesthetic , the color of the oven is light blue, same with the wall. It blends well. The branded ones are either red , black or white That's why i was excited to buy it. But then i just have vto live with the quality. It can still be useful somehow.

@hotsummer - I have bought some cheap small appliances and I have been lucky so far, they are good.

@LadyDuck . I have been always in luck in all my China made product purchases before. Except for this one, which is actually the most expensive China made i bought. Cause i usually buy cheap just in case it's not working , at least i didn't spend too much on it

I always go for brand names. These China made ones are not the reliable ones.

@arunima25 yes quality is important. But there are some branded items that are made or assembled in China as well . I once bought an expensive blender in a mall. Was told it was made in italy. But first time using it, i smell like burnt rubber when using it. My fault was i didn't return it. When I read under it, made in China written on it.

@hotsummer Hmm... makes sense. I generally go for established brands whether for big purchase or small, unless there is a huge price difference that might feel like a bomb on my pocket. I want to be assured of quality.

You should buy micro wave instead.

There's this health concern issue about it. So i avoid it. Besides it makes bread too soft . I prefer a crunchy texture when cooked in toaster
