I rarely take instant oats with milk as I don't like it. I therefore make different kinds of salty breakfast from them like oats idilis or oats dosa. Today I made oats idli for breakfast and a chutney with tomato and a little of raw mango that I had plucked from my garden.
Sundays are always the back breaking cleaning and so I had excess of them and had it for dinner with papaya halwa. I usually order my dinner on Sundays but today I had it ready in morning. Papaya halwa tastes lovely when freezer, so I put it in the fridge and took it for dinner after I had the idlis. I like some sweet dish after taking something salty. I'll take some cold milk before bedtime.

I don't like cooked oats so will eat instant oats with a bit of sugar and almond milk for breakfast. (Pretty is allergic to oats.)

What is steel-cut oat meal? I haven't tried cheese with oats. I shall try with oats pancakes sometime.

Steel-cut oats are just a different cut of oats. Healthline.com explains it better than I can: "Steel cut oats also have a unique taste and texture. They're coarser, chewier, and nuttier in flavor than most common oats. Steel cut oats are minimally processed, require more cooking time than regular oats, and have a different texture and flavor. They're considered a whole grain."
I get the Quaker brand, which is available here in the U.S. I think they tend to go better with savory applications that regular rolled oatmeal.

@gtdoss I don't like food when they are chewy even after being cooked.

Now that sounds very nice and tasty. I sometimes also like oats that are something savory I make instead of sweet.

It is tasty. You can try it. One portion of grinded oats and half of semolina season with mustard seeds, curry leaves, carrots. Mix all the ingredients with yogurt and water. Leave for 20min, add fruit salt and then steam it.

I like mine on the sweet side. Overnight oats are good sometimes for a change of pace too.

I don't take oats with milk at all. I usually make something out of it.
