We Need To Look At This

I recently watched this three-part Netflix docuseries called "House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths". I am writing about it now because it is very alarming to find these types of things happening and knowing that no counseling or therapy was done.
A family of 11 people lives in a small apartment in Burari, India. They have lived there for many years and are well known to their neighbors. When the neighbors haven't seen the family in quite a while the authorities are called to check on them. They find 11 bodies, 4 men and 7 women, hung by scarves from a vent in the apartment. The authorities are unclear as to whether this was a suicide pact or murder.
As they looked into the family they do a complete examination of the apartment. They find a ceremonial area and 11 diaries. The Psychological autopsy found that the brother, Lalit, had PTSD, Psychosis, and Delusional Disorder.
Lalit had had a couple of accidents that had caused head injuries. He had gone uncounseled or non-medicated and began to hear voices and he kept notes on whatever the voices dictated. He began to believe that his father was speaking through him and he ordered his family to do ceremonies that were done daily for 11 years culminating in these hangings.
Such a sad and weird tale. This man was so delusional and felt that his (dead) father was telling him what to do. The weird part of this story is that it is not the only one. This type of thing is becoming commonplace in India where they believe in the afterlife/rebirth.
I think that this is just one more reason that mental health needs to become a higher priority not just in the US, but worldwide.

11 persons living in a small apartment and are well-known to the community. What they do for a living?

@celticeagle Okay. That's how they subsist for a living.

If we paid more attention to the mental health of some of these shooters, there might be a lot less deaths.
